In a high-profile case, a woman known as “Jane” took the stand to testify against the well-known music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. She described how she was involved in sexual acts with male sex workers at Combs’ behest, a decision she now regrets as she recognized the lifestyle as “cuckold.” Jane spoke anonymously at the sex-trafficking trial to protect her identity. Their relationship lasted three years, ending shortly before Combs’ arrest in a New York hotel where they were supposed to meet.

Combs, now 55 years old, faces serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, which could result in a sentence from 15 years to life imprisonment. He currently remains in custody without bail. According to prosecutors, Combs is accused of using violence, threats, and an intricate network of associates to exert control and abuse women over the past two decades. His defense argued in a federal court in Manhattan that while domestic violence was present, all sexual activities were consensual.

Previously, R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura testified during the trial over four days. She claimed that she was physically abused by Combs and was involved in numerous “freak-off” sexual performances throughout their almost 11-year-long relationship until it ended in 2018. The media adheres to a policy of not naming alleged victims of sexual abuse without their consent unless those individuals have publicly identified themselves, as Cassie has.

On Tuesday, Combs’ attorney, Teny Geragos, cross-examined Jane. This examination explored the drug-fueled sexual events orchestrated by Combs, reminding Jane of her earlier remarks of regret. “I resent him for leading me into the lifestyle he led me to,” Jane commented. She described feeling emotional pressure to participate, driven by a need to stay in Combs’ life.

Jane further elaborated on her relationship, stating that despite her reluctance, the encounters pleased Combs and she cherished the private moments they shared afterward. She began therapy a few months prior, having earlier met with Combs’ defense attorneys but ceased contact as the trial neared. Jane admitted difficulty grasping why she continued engaging in these “hotel nights” when her desire was only to be intimate with Combs. Yet, therapy has helped her clarity on the matter.

Initially, Jane viewed these secret encounters as “something very special” with Combs. She expressed a desire not to judge him and wished to go along with his preferences, believing she could serve as his means of escape. Her research in 2022 introduced her to the terms “cuck” and “cuckold,” which she related to her experiences, as some men derive pleasure from seeing their partners with others. “He likes to use the words ‘voyeurism’ and ‘escapism,’” Jane explained, adding that she believed the term “cuck” fit him better.

During cross-examination, Geragos brought up Jane’s previous testimony where she admitted to still being in love with Combs. She affirmed, “I do,” in response. Geragos had Jane read parts of explicit messages where she expressed interest in engaging in activities with Combs and male sex workers, aiming to paint her as a willing participant. Jane’s earlier testimony included instances of Combs exhibiting violence while seeking to satisfy his desires. Moreover, Cassie’s lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, alleging sexual abuse, was settled for $20 million, which prompted the current criminal investigation against him.
