Caitlin Clark achieves milestone 100th 3-pointer and triple-double as Fever defeat Sparks 93-86

Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever made history in the WNBA by becoming the quickest player to reach 100 3-pointers in a season. She wrapped up the game against the Los Angeles Sparks with an impressive triple-double performance, scoring 24 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists. Clark, the top overall draft pick, hit her 100th 3-pointer during the third quarter and finished the game with a total of 102 3-pointers on 4 of 10 shooting from beyond the arc. She is the first rookie in WNBA history to achieve this feat.

Not only did Clark secure her place in the record books by surpassing 100 3-pointers, but she also joined an elite group of players by becoming the first rookie and fifth WNBA player overall to record multiple triple-doubles in a single season. Her stellar performance helped lead the Fever to a 93-86 victory over the Sparks, with Aliyah Boston contributing 24 points and 14 rebounds to the winning effort.

The win against the Sparks confirmed the Fever’s spot in the playoffs, marking their fifth consecutive victory and solidifying their home court advantage with a 10-1 record at home since June 1. Indiana showcased a strong team effort with players like Kelsey Mitchell adding 18 points and NaLyssa Smith chipping in 13 points. The Fever’s defensive efforts were highlighted by key plays from Clark and Boston in the closing moments of the game.

On the losing side, the Sparks, led by Odyssey Sims with 20 points, struggled to contain the Fever’s offensive firepower. Despite solid performances from Dearica Hamby, Rae Burrell, and Azura Stevens, Los Angeles suffered their fifth consecutive road loss and their 15th defeat in 17 away games this season. The result further solidifies the Fever’s position as a strong contender heading into the playoffs.
