Korean American artist Jay Park, known for his talents in rapping and R&B music, recently delighted fans with a two-day fan meeting in Seoul, marking his return after over a decade. Park, also recognized for his love of garlic health drinks, treated lucky fans to a unique experience by mincing garlic on stage and offering them a taste of his signature health drink. The event was filled with excitement as fans waved garlic-shaped light sticks in support of the artist.
Originally from Washington state, Park’s journey into South Korea’s competitive pop scene began unexpectedly when his mother encouraged him to audition for K-pop, initially mistaking it for a talent show. After joining JYP Entertainment as a trainee, Park later debuted with K-pop group 2PM, a collaboration that ended prematurely due to controversy surrounding old online comments that were later clarified as being taken out of context.
Since returning to the United States and re-debuting as a solo artist in 2010, Park has become a prominent figure in the Asian entertainment industry, exceling not only as a recording artist but also as the founder of three renowned South Korean music labels and a successful entrepreneur with his own Korean liquor brand.
In a recent interview, Park discussed various aspects of his career, including his long-awaited fan meeting, being the first K-pop star to open an OnlyFans account, and his plans for venturing into K-pop management with upcoming debut bands. He emphasized the importance of authenticity and staying true to himself, highlighting his unique approach to music and collaborations.
Known for his hands-on involvement in the business world, Park shared his enthusiasm for his premium soju brand, WONSOJU, expressing a desire to elevate the global perception of soju as a high-quality alcoholic beverage comparable to fine whiskey or sake. As a multifaceted artist with diverse interests, Park revealed his anticipation for an upcoming album set to release in October, keeping fans eager for more of his music and creative expressions.
