BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In a commanding performance, Samford triumphed over Western Carolina with a score of 93-72 on Saturday, showcasing their offensive strength throughout the game.

Trey Fort was a standout player for the Bulldogs, contributing significantly with 24 points. Fort also contributed defensively, recording five rebounds and five steals for a well-rounded effort. Rylan Jones added to the team’s success with 16 points, achieving an efficient shooting performance by hitting 6 of his 12 attempts, including 4 out of 10 from beyond the arc. Jones also managed to secure five rebounds and provide seven assists, demonstrating his versatility on the court. Jaden Brownell chipped in with 11 points, finishing the game with a shooting mark of 5 of 10 from the field, despite struggling with one out of five from three-point territory.

For Western Carolina, the team struggled to keep pace but had notable individual performances. Marcus Kell led the Catamounts by scoring 19 points and made an impact on defense with three blocks.
