In a closely contested matchup, Texas Southern edged out Grambling with a score of 67-60 on Saturday night in Grambling, Louisiana.

Kavion McClain stood out for the Tigers, scoring 13 points while also providing significant support with six assists and three steals. His performance was instrumental in leading the team to victory and maintaining their momentum in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, where they hold an 8-4 record and an overall standing of 11-14. In addition to McClain’s contributions, Jaylin Jackson-Posey also scored 13 points and recorded three steals, while Grayson Carter added 10 points, shooting 50% from the floor and hitting two of three attempts from beyond the arc.

On the other side for Grambling, who are now 8-17 overall and 5-7 in the conference, Antwan Barnett emerged as the leading scorer, finishing the game with 15 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Kintavious Dozier supported the effort with 14 points and nearly a double-double, securing nine rebounds. Mikale Stevenson contributed with nine points, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in favor of the Grambling Tigers.
