EDINBURG, Texas — In an impressive performance on Saturday night, Cliff Davis led the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros to a commanding 76-52 win over Houston Christian.
Davis scored a total of 23 points, showcasing his shooting skills by making 8 of 12 attempts, including a stellar 7 of 10 from three-point range, contributing significantly to the Vaqueros’ success.
Trey Miller also had a notable game, netting 20 points while shooting 10 for 14 from the field, along with providing six assists and three steals.
Howard Fleming Jr. added to the scoreline with 11 points, hitting 5 of 11 shots from the floor.
On the other side, the Huskies were led by Bryson Dawkins, who contributed 15 points.
Peyton Rogers offered a strong performance as well, recording 10 points alongside eight rebounds, two steals, and two blocked shots.
Porter Bazil matched Rogers’ score with 10 points and added two blocks to his stats for Houston Christian.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to continue their campaigns on Monday.
UT Rio Grande Valley will face off against Incarnate Word while Houston Christian will travel to play against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
