GRAMBLING, La. — In a decisive matchup on Saturday evening, Jackson State emerged victorious against Grambling with a score of 65-50, highlighting Daeshun Ruffin’s impressive performance, where he recorded 20 points.

Ruffin also contributed significantly with five rebounds and three steals, helping the team improve to 6-15 overall and 6-2 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Alongside him, Romelle Mansel added a solid contribution of 10 points and eight rebounds, while Shannon Grant chipped in with another 10 points, shooting 5 of 11 from the field.

For the Grambling squad, Kintavious Dozier was the standout player, leading the team with 14 points. Mikale Stevenson supported with eight points and secured 10 rebounds, while Chilaydrien Newton also added eight points to the total. The team now holds a record of 6-15 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to play again on Monday. Jackson State will travel to Southern, while Grambling will be at home against Alcorn State.
