Cornish nets 25 points as Dartmouth edges out Brown 84-83

Providence, R.I. — In an intense matchup on Saturday, Ryan Cornish led the Dartmouth Big Green to a narrow victory against the Brown Bears, finishing the game with 25 points. His two critical free throws, taken with only 18 seconds remaining, sealed the score at 84-83 in favor of Dartmouth.

In addition to Cornish’s stellar performance, he also contributed six rebounds, helping his team to improve to 8-9 overall and 2-2 in the Ivy League. Another standout for Dartmouth, Brandon Mitchell-Day, scored 23 points while shooting impressively from the field at 8 of 15. He didn’t miss at the free-throw line, making all six attempts, and he dominated the boards with an impressive 20 rebounds. Connor Amundsen added to the Big Green’s offense with 14 points, shooting 3 of 7 from the field, including a strong 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, and went 5 for 6 on free throws.

For the Bears, who now hold a record of 9-8 and 1-3 in Ivy League play, AJ Lesburt Jr. was the leading scorer with 21 points and managed to grab two steals. Lyndel Erold supported the team by adding 20 points, while Kino Lilly Jr. showcased his versatility with 17 points and 10 assists.

Both teams are gearing up for their next contests on Friday, with Dartmouth set to face off against Cornell and Brown heading on the road to compete against Pennsylvania.
