NORMAN, Okla. — Jalon Moore delivered an impressive performance with 22 points, helping Oklahoma secure a decisive 82-62 victory against South Carolina on Saturday.

Moore showcased his shooting prowess by hitting 6 of 10 attempts from the field and converting 10 of 11 free throws. Additionally, he contributed eight rebounds for the Sooners, who now stand at 14-4 overall and 1-4 in the Southeastern Conference.

Jeremiah Fears also had a notable game, finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Off the bench, Kobe Elvis provided a valuable contribution, scoring 12 points while shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc.

For South Carolina, Morris Ugusuk was the standout, leading his team with 15 points, including four successful 3-pointers. The Gamecocks, who are now 10-8 and 0-5 in conference play, have hit a rough patch, losing five consecutive games after previously tying for second place last season. Collin Murray-Boyles posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out, marking his fifth such performance this season. Jacobi Wright added another 10 points and five assists for the Gamecocks.

The first half concluded with Oklahoma holding a narrow 34-30 lead, aided by Moore’s 10 points and Elvis’s nine. The half ended dramatically for South Carolina when Ugusuk sank a 40-foot 3-pointer just before the buzzer.

The beginning of the second half saw South Carolina rally, with Zachary Davis hitting a 3-pointer and Ugusuk scoring a three-point play, taking a 38-36 lead at the 16:51 mark. South Carolina continued to battle, tying the game at 47 with a jumper by Nick Pringle. However, Fears quickly responded with a layup for Oklahoma, propelling them into a lead they would maintain for the remainder of the game. The Sooners extended their advantage dramatically with a 13-0 run, leading 72-54 with just over four minutes remaining.

Looking ahead, South Carolina’s next challenge will be at home against No. 5 Florida on Wednesday, while Oklahoma will head to Arkansas for their upcoming match on Saturday.
