FAIRFAX, Va. – In a thrilling contest, George Mason triumphed over George Washington with a final score of 80-77 after two intense overtime periods on Saturday. Jalen Haynes was a standout performer for the Patriots, contributing significantly with 17 points, while Jared Billups stepped up when it mattered most, scoring crucial points in the second overtime.

Haynes not only shined on the scoreboard but also dominated the boards, recording eight rebounds to back his team (14-5, 5-1 Atlantic 10 Conference). Alongside him, Darius Maddox had a commendable performance, putting up 17 points on 6-for-15 shooting, including two 3-pointers, while also nailing all three of his free-throw attempts. K.D. Johnson also made his mark, scoring 15 points to support the team’s efforts.

On the opposing side, the Revolutionaries (13-5, 2-3) were led by Christian Jones, who delivered an impressive performance with 16 points, along with four assists and three steals.
