MUNICH — Bayern Munich has officially acquired 18-year-old American midfielder Bajung Darboe from LAFC.
Darboe has entered a long-term agreement with the club and is set to join their reserve team, as the German footballing powerhouse announced on Wednesday.
“I’ve realized a significant dream. It’s incredible to reflect on the journey that has brought me here,” Darboe shared in a statement. “Wearing the jersey of such an esteemed club has always been a major aspiration of mine. Knowing that this has come to fruition fills me with immense pride. I’m still getting over some jet lag, but I feel great and am eager to begin.”
Darboe, who hails from Gambia, has made two appearances for the United States under-17 national team. During his club career, he has played for the reserve squads of both LAFC and the Philadelphia Union.
Bayern Munich and LAFC maintain a broad partnership within the Red&Gold Football brand, emphasizing the development of young talent.
