GREENVILLE, N.C. — In a competitive matchup on Tuesday night, Atin Wright scored 22 points, leading North Texas to a 69-60 victory over East Carolina.
Wright also contributed six rebounds for the Mean Green, who improved to a record of 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the American Athletic Conference.
Brenen Lorient also had a notable performance, putting up 18 points with an impressive shooting performance of 6 for 8 from the field and matching that with 6 for 8 from the charity stripe.
Moulaye Sissoko added 10 points, hitting 4 of his 6 attempt from the field, rounding out a strong offensive effort from the team.
On the other side, the Pirates, now 9-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play, were propelled by RJ Felton, who delivered an impressive 30 points along with six rebounds.
C.J. Walker contributed 12 points to East Carolina’s efforts, while Joran Riley chipped in with six points, four assists, and three steals.
Wright made an impact early, scoring nine points during the first half; however, North Texas found themselves trailing 33-27 at halftime.
In a decisive moment, Felton scored the final seven points for North Texas, which ultimately allowed them to secure a nine-point win.
