NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Long Island secured a narrow victory over Central Connecticut on Sunday, triumphing with a score of 54-52. Terell Strickland played a pivotal role in the win, contributing 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, helping to elevate the Sharks’ record to 8-11, maintaining their perfect start in the Northeast Conference at 4-0.
In addition to Strickland’s efforts, Malachi Davis also added 12 points while shooting 6 of 16 from the field. He showcased his defensive skills with three steals, influencing the game’s pace and putting pressure on the Blue Devils.
For Central Connecticut, which now stands at 11-6 overall and 2-2 in conference play, Devin Haid was the standout player, finishing the contest with 20 points and seven rebounds. Complementing Haid was Jordan Jones, who contributed 11 points, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to secure the win.
