— In an intense matchup on Saturday night, Kentrell Garnett played a pivotal role for Louisiana, scoring 15 points to guide his team to a narrow 71-68 win over UL Monroe.
Garnett also contributed with five assists, showcasing his all-around game for the Ragin’ Cajuns, who improved their record to 5-12 overall and 3-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Christian Wright delivered in the clutch, sinking four free throws in the last 13 seconds to help secure the victory.
Additionally, Mostapha El Moutaouakkil added 10 points and five rebounds, while Kyran Ratliff also tallied 10 points, and Wright came off the bench to record nine points.
On the other side, the Warhawks, struggling with a seven-game losing streak, were led by Makai Willis, who scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Tyreese Watson contributed 15 points and six rebounds, while Jerry Ngopot made his presence felt with 12 points, six rebounds, and four blocks.
The game was closely contested, but Louisiana managed to hold off the Warhawks, keeping their hope alive in the Sun Belt standings.
