WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Baltimore Orioles made roster moves on Sunday by activating relief pitcher Scott Blewett and designating Matt Bowman for assignment.

The Orioles had reacquired Blewett from the Atlanta Braves on Friday, exchanging him for cash considerations. Blewett had initially been claimed by the Orioles off waivers from the Minnesota Twins on April 14, before his contract was later purchased by the Braves.

Throughout the season, Blewett has recorded a 2-0 record with a 3.91 ERA over 25 1/3 innings in 15 appearances for the Orioles, Braves, and Twins. During his most recent performance for the Braves, he struggled significantly, allowing five runs in just 1 1/3 innings. This was part of a larger bullpen collapse that enabled Arizona to overcome a 10-4 deficit in the ninth inning, eventually securing an 11-10 victory on Thursday.

Matt Bowman, designated for assignment, has contributed to the Orioles’ bullpen in 18 appearances, posting a 0-1 record with a 4.57 ERA across 21 2/3 innings.
