NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In an impressive display of dominance, Vanderbilt triumphed over The Citadel with a staggering score of 105-53 on Wednesday night. Devin McGlockton and Jason Edwards shone brightly, each contributing 19 points to the Commodores’ offense.

A.J. Hoggard added 13 points while Jaylen Carey and Tyler Nickel chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively, helping Vanderbilt to a solid record of 10 wins against 1 loss this season. The Commodores showcased their shooting skills, achieving an overall field goal percentage of 56%. They were particularly effective from beyond the arc, sinking 12 of their 23 attempts, and demonstrated proficiency at the free-throw line, converting 17 of 21 attempts.

Vanderbilt wasted no time establishing control of the game, netting 49 points during the first half. They continued the momentum into the second half, scoring an impressive 56 points. The highlight of the game came when Chris Manon executed a spectacular dunk, pushing the lead to 50 points, and following that up with another dunk that made the score 96-44 with only three minutes to spare. In the final moments, Miles Keeffe wrapped up Vanderbilt’s scoring with a 3-pointer and four free throws, contributing the last seven points for the team.

The first half saw Vanderbilt shooting at a 53% clip overall and an impressive 57% from three-point range, hitting 8 of 14 attempts. Their stellar performance was bolstered by capitalizing on The Citadel’s 10 turnovers, resulting in a staggering 19-0 advantage in points off turnovers.

Off the bench, Edwards was particularly instrumental in the first half, scoring 14 points. For The Citadel, Colby McAllister was the standout player, leading his team with 15 points off the bench as they fell to a 5-6 record this season.
