NASSAU, Bahamas — Cruz Davis was the standout for Hofstra, scoring 24 points as the team narrowly defeated Arkansas State, 68-66, on Sunday night during the Baha Mar Hoops event.
With the game on the line, Michael Graham made a crucial layup with just two seconds left on the clock to secure the victory for the Pride.
In addition to Davis’s impressive performance, which also included five rebounds and three steals, Graham contributed significantly with 14 points, going 7 for 8 from the field and pulling down 12 rebounds.
Jean Aranguren supported the team as well, finishing the game with 10 points, having made four of eight shots, including two successful three-pointers.
For the Red Wolves, Derrian Ford emerged as the leading scorer, netting 17 points. Kobe Julien added 16 points and recorded two steals, while Joseph Pinion chipped in with 12 points.
Davis’s first-half contribution included eight points, helping Hofstra go into halftime tied with Arkansas State at 29-29. He then excelled in the second half, adding 16 more points to seal the win.
