OMAHA, Neb. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Marquel Sutton led the Omaha Mavericks to a 93-85 victory over the South Dakota Coyotes, showcasing an impressive performance with 36 points and 12 rebounds.

The Mavericks, who now hold an 18-12 record and a strong 12-3 in Summit League play, also benefited from JJ White’s contribution of 22 points and seven assists. Lance Waddles added to the scoreboard with 14 points, helping secure the win for Omaha.

On the other side, Chase Forte was the standout player for South Dakota, finishing strong with 25 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Quandre Bullock supported him with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Isaac Bruns contributed another 10 points for the Coyotes. South Dakota’s record now stands at 17-12 with an 8-6 Summit League standing.

Looking ahead, Omaha will host Oral Roberts next Saturday, aiming to build on their recent success. Meanwhile, South Dakota has a road game scheduled against North Dakota State on Wednesday, hoping to bounce back from the loss.
