STILLWATER, Okla. — In a thrilling matchup on Wednesday night, Oklahoma State overcame a significant halftime deficit to clinch a narrow 60-59 victory against No. 9 TCU, effectively ending the Horned Frogs’ impressive 10-game winning streak. Stailee Heard led the charge for the Cowgirls with 17 points, while Jadyn Wooten contributed 14 points, 10 of which came in a pivotal fourth quarter. Anna Gret Asi also made her mark with 10 points to aid Oklahoma State (16-3, 6-2 Big 12) in this remarkable comeback.

The Cowgirls found themselves trailing by 15 at halftime but made strategic adjustments, cutting the deficit to eight points by the end of the third quarter before dramatically outscoring TCU 20-11 in the final period. This victory marks Oklahoma State’s first win over a top-10 opponent since they defeated No. 7 UCLA on December 8, 2017, signaling their return to prominence in women’s college basketball.

A crucial moment came when Heard sank a three-pointer with just over a minute left, giving Oklahoma State a 58-55 advantage. Asi added to the lead with two free throws, pushing the score to 60-55 with only 20.7 seconds on the clock. However, missed free throws by the Cowgirls allowed TCU to strut back into contention with four consecutive foul shots, putting the score at 60-59.

Sedona Prince had a standout performance for TCU (19-2, 7-1), posting 22 points and gathering 13 rebounds. Hailey Van Lith assisted with 12 points and eight rebounds, but despite holding Oklahoma State to just eight points in the second quarter, the Horned Frogs struggled significantly from beyond the arc, hitting only seven of 25 three-point attempts.

A turning point for Oklahoma State occurred midway through the third quarter, as they trailed 44-29. They responded with intensity by scoring 11 of the next 15 points, which trimmed TCU’s lead to 48-40. The Cowgirls maintained their momentum, executing an 18-7 run in the fourth quarter to ultimately secure the lead.

Another notable aspect of the game was the contribution from Oklahoma State’s bench, which outperformed TCU’s reserves by a score of 16-5, emphasizing their depth and team effort.

Looking ahead, TCU is set to host No. 25 Baylor on Sunday, while Oklahoma State will visit Texas Tech on Saturday.
