TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Sterling Young was the star performer for Florida A&M, leading the team to an 86-76 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Young showcased his incredible shooting skills, completing 12 of 18 attempts from the field, including an impressive 7 of 10 from beyond the arc, and converting 6 of 8 free throws. This win marked a significant moment for the Rattlers, who improved their record to 4-11 overall and 1-3 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, snapping a frustrating six-game losing streak.
Supporting Young, Jordan Chatman, Roderick Coffee III, and Milton Matthews contributed significantly, each scoring 11 points, which underscored the team’s overall offensive strength during the game.
On the other side, Doctor Bradley had an outstanding performance for the Golden Lions, posting 24 points along with a double-double effort by adding 12 rebounds. He also recorded seven assists and three steals, showcasing his versatility on the court.
Dante Sawyer managed to contribute with 12 points for UAPB, while Quentin Bolton Jr. added nine points and seven rebounds, but their efforts were not enough to overcome the Rattlers in this competitive game.
With this victory, Florida A&M is hoping to build momentum as they continue their season.
