LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas is set to participate in the upcoming World Economic Forum taking place in Switzerland next week, as confirmed by her office on Friday.

The Republican governor will be present in Davos from January 22 to January 24, where she will contribute to two discussions. One of the panels will revolve around the impacts of smartphones and social media on the mental health crisis faced by youth. This session features Jonathan Haidt, the author of “The Anxious Generation,” a recent publication that explores the adverse effects of digital technology on young people.

The second panel will examine the responsibilities of states during presidential transitions and will include Kentucky’s Governor Andy Beshear among its participants, as stated by her office.

Sanders’ appearance at the forum comes on the heels of her advocacy for banning student cellphones in schools, a stance endorsed by many governors across the country. Last year, she initiated a pilot program that provides financial support to schools adopting cellphone bans.

In addition to her panels, Sanders plans to engage with business leaders to promote investment in Arkansas, according to her office.

The expenses for the governor’s trip are being covered by the Arkansas Economic Development Foundation, a nonprofit organization, along with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. Accompanying Sanders will be First Gentleman Bryan Sanders and Deputy Chief of Staff Judd Deere.
