Antetokounmpo achieves 50th career triple-double in Bucks’ 130-115 victory, snapping Kings’ 7-game winning run

MILWAUKEE — Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered an impressive performance with 30 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds, achieving his 50th career triple-double. This standout effort propelled the Milwaukee Bucks to a 130-115 victory over the Sacramento Kings, putting an end to Sacramento’s seven-game winning streak.

Antetokounmpo recorded his fifth triple-double of the current season. Although he also achieved one during the Bucks’ NBA Cup championship win against Oklahoma City, those statistics do not count officially. In addition to Antetokounmpo’s remarkable score, Damian Lillard contributed 24 points, Brook Lopez added 21, and A.J. Green chipped in with 16 points for Milwaukee, who maintained a commanding lead without ever trailing and built a margin as wide as 28 points.

On the other side, DeMar DeRozan led Sacramento with 28 points, while De’Aaron Fox scored 20 and Keon Ellis added 18. Domantas Sabonis also had a notable game with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. Sacramento was without Malik Monk due to a sore groin, while the Bucks were missing Khris Middleton, who was undergoing management for an ankle injury, and Gary Trent Jr., who was bothered by a hip flexor strain.

In terms of overall performance, the Kings fell to a record of 7-2 under interim head coach Doug Christie. Their last loss had been against the Los Angeles Lakers, a game in which they lost 132-122 shortly after head coach Mike Brown was dismissed.

The Bucks had their highest scoring game of the season, showcasing resilience just two nights after suffering a significant defeat to the New York Knicks, where they were outscored 140-106.

A key moment in the game occurred during an impressive first quarter for Milwaukee when Lillard managed to block a layup attempt from Ellis, marking just his fifth block of the season. Following that defensive play, Keegan Murray grabbed the rebound but missed a putback, which allowed Lopez to drain a three-pointer on the other end, pushing the Bucks’ lead to 15-11.

Milwaukee seized command of the game with an explosive 21-2 run late in the initial quarter, demonstrating their offensive prowess and strategic play.

Looking ahead, the Kings are set to host the Houston Rockets on Thursday, while the Bucks will remain at home to face the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
