NEW YORK — In an exciting clash on Tuesday night, St. John’s triumphed over Georgetown with a close score of 63-58, propelled by RJ Luis Jr.’s impressive performance, where he netted 19 points.
Luis demonstrated his versatility, shooting 7 of 19 overall, including 2 of 7 from beyond the arc, and converting 3 of 6 from the free-throw line. His contributions helped the Red Storm improve to a solid 15-3 record, marking 6-1 in the Big East Conference.
Alongside him, Aaron Scott provided crucial support with 14 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, while Zuby Ejiofor chipped in with 10 points.
The Hoyas, with a record of 12-5 and 3-3 in the conference, were led by Micah Peavy, who scored 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and made three steals. Malik Mack added to the scoreboard with 13 points, six assists, and two steals, while Curtis Williams contributed with 11 points.
Initially, Jorge St. John’s struggled in the first half, trailing 37-27 at halftime after Luis’s 10 points during the period. In addition to Luis, Kadary Richmond was pivotal in the second half, scoring 10 points, helping to secure St. John’s victory in what turned out to be a thrilling matchup.
