DENPASAR, Indonesia — Indonesian authorities have launched a search for two Australian nationals suspected of carrying out a fatal shooting at a villa on Bali’s popular tourist island. The attack occurred just after midnight on Friday at Villa Casa Santisya, located near Munggu Beach in Badung district, resulting in the death of Zivan Radmanovic, a 32-year-old from Melbourne, and leaving another Australian man injured.

Badung Police Chief Arif Batubara reported that the second victim, also a Melbourne resident aged 34, was physically assaulted during the incident. Details regarding the motive behind the shooting remain unclear as investigations continue. Both Australians were transported to medical facilities in Denpasar, the provincial capital, following the attack.

The villa, which comprises only three occupied rooms, accommodated a total of five guests at the time of the incident. Alongside the two victims, Radmanovic’s wife and another Australian tourist were present in the villa with their respective partners. Police disclosed that the shooting unfolded in a bathroom where Radmanovic was found, alongside evidence comprised of 17 bullet casings and two full bullets.

Eyewitnesses recounted that around midnight, two men arrived on a scooter, one clad in an orange jacket with a dark helmet, while the second wore a dark green jacket, a black mask, and another dark helmet. Gourdeas Jazmyn, Radmanovic’s 30-year-old wife, relayed to authorities that she was abruptly woken by her husband’s cries. Fearing for her safety, she hid under a blanket as multiple gunshots rang out. Upon emerging, she discovered her husband’s lifeless body and the wounded Australian, whose wife also corroborated sightings of the attackers.

The Australian Consulate in Bali has been alerted regarding the occurrence. An autopsy is pending, with permission from Radmanovic’s family necessary for its execution, as the investigation gathers momentum.
