AUGUSTA, Ga. — The lineup for the 89th edition of the Masters, set to take place from April 10-13, will feature 87 players. Competitors are categorized based on the first qualifying category they meet, with amateurs denoted by an “a” before their names.
Among the distinguished group are past Masters champions, including renowned names like Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Hideki Matsuyama, Dustin Johnson, Tiger Woods, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia, Danny Willett, Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Charl Schwartzel, Phil Mickelson, Angel Cabrera, Zach Johnson, Mike Weir, Vijay Singh, Jose Maria Olazabal, Bernhard Langer, and Fred Couples.
Players bagging titles in significant tournaments within the last five years also make the list, with notable PGA champions like Xander Schauffele, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, and Collin Morikawa. Similarly, U.S. Open champions such as Bryson DeChambeau, Wyndham Clark, and Matt Fitzpatrick will be part of the competition, alongside British Open champions Brian Harman and Cameron Smith.
The Masters will also welcome the NCAA champion, Hiroshi Tai (a), as well as both the U.S. Amateur champion and runner-up, Jose Luis Ballester (a) and Noah Kent (a). Evan Beck (a), the U.S. Mid-Amateur champion, is expected to participate, and the Latin American Amateur championship is scheduled for January 16-19, which will influence future qualifications.
Additional qualifying players include the top 12 finishers and ties from the 2024 Masters, which features golf talents like Ludvig Aberg, Max Homa, Will Zalatoris, Tyrrell Hatton, Cameron Young, Matthieu Pavon, Adam Schenk, and Cameron Davis. The top four finishers and ties from the 2024 PGA Championship, including Viktor Hovland and Thomas Detry, along with other top placements from the U.S. Open and British Open, will also join the field.
Recent PGA Tour winners eligible since the last Masters include players such as Taylor Pendrith, Davis Riley, Robert MacIntyre, and Jhonattan Vegas, among others. Competitors from the previous Tour Championship will include Sam Burns, Sungjae Im, Sahith Theegala, and Shane Lowry.
Additionally, the top 50 players from the final world rankings in 2024, like Tom Kim and Nick Dunlap, will be part of the event, while the top 50 standings from the March 31, 2025, world ranking remain to be determined. Special invitations have also been extended to Nicolai Hojgaard and Joaquin Niemann.
