Connor Kochera delivered an impressive performance, scoring 34 points, as Davidson triumphed over Eastern Michigan with a score of 86-64 on Saturday.
Alongside his scoring efforts, Kochera contributed five rebounds for the Wildcats, who improved their record to 10-3. Bobby Durkin was another key player for Davidson, adding 17 points to the scoreboard while shooting 5 of 11 from the field, 3 for 7 from three-point range, and converting 4 of 5 free throws, also grabbing five rebounds. Mike Loughnane had a noteworthy outing, finishing with 12 points, including hitting 4 for 6 from beyond the three-point arc.
On the other hand, Eastern Michigan, now at 6-6, found their leading scorer in Da’Sean Nelson, who netted 16 points during the matchup. Jalin Billingsley registered 12 points along with two steals for the Eagles, while Arne Osojnik added ten points to the team’s efforts.
Davidson seized control early in the matchup, taking the lead just 24 seconds into the first half and maintaining it throughout. By halftime, the Wildcats had established a significant gap, with a score of 41-21, thanks in part to Kochera’s 16 points in the first half. The second half saw Kochera continue his scoring spree, adding 18 points and helping Davidson maintain their advantage, even outscoring Eastern Michigan by two points in the latter half.
Looking ahead, Davidson will face George Mason on the road on Tuesday, while Eastern Michigan is set to host Northern Illinois on Saturday.
