EDINBURG, Texas — In an impressive display of skill, Cliff Davis scored 21 points, leading the UT Rio Grande Valley to a 72-60 victory over Northern New Mexico on Saturday night.
In addition to his scoring, Davis contributed five rebounds for the Vaqueros, who now hold a record of 6-4. K.T. Raimey made a notable impact with his 14 points, effectively shooting 4 for 9 from the floor and excelling at the free-throw line with 6 of 7 attempts. He also secured five rebounds during the game. Howard Fleming Jr. added to the scoreboard, finishing with nine points after hitting 2 of 2 from the field and converting 5 of 9 from the charity stripe.
On the opposing team, Jesus Mendoza was the standout performer for the Eagles, with a solid 15-point contribution. Tahj-Malik Campbell also had a strong game, recording 14 points, seven rebounds, and three steals for Northern New Mexico. Additionally, Malek Malual played well, contributing eight points and pulling down 10 rebounds, showcasing the Eagles’ effort even in defeat.
