Woltemade scores twice in the second half to propel Stuttgart past Union Berlin in comeback victory

STUTTGART, Germany — In an exhilarating Bundesliga match on Friday, Stuttgart made a remarkable comeback to defeat Union Berlin 3-2, with Nick Woltemade scoring twice in the second half and Atakan Karazor netting the decisive goal late in the game.

Union Berlin entered the match as one of the lowest scoring teams in the league. They took control early with a goal from Danilho Doekhi in the 37th minute, followed by another from Robert Skov just two minutes after the break, giving them a 2-0 lead.

Despite being down, Stuttgart responded strongly. Woltemade found the back of the net in the 51st minute and again in the 59th, equalizing the match and reigniting Stuttgart’s hopes.

The decisive moment came when Karazor scored his first-ever Bundesliga goal, which he converted after a mishap from Berlin’s goalkeeper, Riis Rønnow. The keeper’s wayward clearance went directly to Karazor, allowing him to finish easily and secure victory for Stuttgart.

This win propelled Stuttgart to sixth place in the league standings, while Union Berlin remained in 11th position, highlighting the unpredictable nature of this thrilling encounter.
