BUENOS AIRES — Authorities have filed charges against three individuals related to the tragic death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction star who passed away after a fall from the balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires last month, according to local prosecutors on Thursday.
Prosecutor Andrés Madrea has levied charges against the accused, whose names remain undisclosed, for “abandonment of a person followed by death” and for “supplying and facilitating the use of narcotics.” The prosecutor has also sought their detention, and Judge Laura Bruniard has imposed travel restrictions, preventing the suspects from leaving the country.
Payne met his demise after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in the affluent Palermo district of the Argentine capital. Autopsy results revealed that he succumbed to multiple injuries and significant external bleeding.
