EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings have made a significant change to their offensive line by trading guard Ed Ingram to the Houston Texans. The deal, completed on Thursday, involves the Vikings acquiring a sixth-round draft pick in 2026 from the Texans. This move follows Ingram’s demotion from the starting lineup during the 2024 season.

Ed Ingram, a fourth-year player, was originally picked by the Vikings in the second round of the 2022 draft after a notable college career at LSU. During his tenure with the team, he started in 41 games at right guard. However, his continued struggles with pass protection saw him replaced by Dalton Risner partway through last season. The trade also benefits the Vikings financially, as it frees up about $3.4 million from their salary cap for 2025.

This trade is part of the Vikings’ efforts to bolster their offensive line. Earlier this week, they reached agreements with two former Indianapolis Colts players, center Ryan Kelly and guard Will Fries, aiming to fortify the interior of their line.

Meanwhile, the Texans have been active in making changes to their offensive front as well. They recently executed a trade that sent star left tackle Laremy Tunsil to Washington and dealt guard Kenyon Green to the Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, they have reached a one-year agreement with free agent guard Laken Tomlinson.
