ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Corey Tripp spearheaded the Wofford Terriers to an impressive 85-65 win over the VMI Keydets on Sunday night during a Southern Conference Tournament semifinal clash. This victory propels the sixth-seeded Terriers (18-15) into the championship game on Monday, where they will face the No. 5 seed Furman, with a coveted automatic entry into the NCAA Tournament at stake.

Corey Tripp was a standout player for the Terriers, scoring 20 points with a shooting accuracy of 7 for 11 overall, and making 4 out of 7 shots from beyond the arc. His teammates Dillon Bailey and Kyler Filewich also made significant contributions with 14 and 13 points respectively.

The VMI Keydets (15-19) were led by Rickey Bradley, Jr., who delivered an impressive performance with 21 points. Augustinas Kiudulas supported the effort by adding another 20 points, while Tan Yildizoglu contributed 12 points to the team’s total.

Wofford took control of the game just over a minute into play and maintained their advantage without faltering. By halftime, the Terriers had carved out a solid lead, with the scoreboard reading 44-29, largely thanks to Tripp’s 13-point contribution by the break.

VMI came into this semifinal after a first-round victory against the 10th-seeded The Citadel. They then pulled off an impressive upset against No. 2 seed UNC Greensboro, securing a 64-57 triumph in the quarterfinals. This impressive journey, however, came to an end as they faced the strong Wofford team.
