FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Minnesota Twins have hit a setback with their pitching roster as right-hander Erasmo Ramirez has been diagnosed with a considerable tear in his shoulder, sidelining him for an indefinite period.
Nick Paparesta, the team’s trainer, briefed the media about Ramirez’s condition on Saturday, revealing that it will take several weeks before a follow-up examination can be conducted to assess any progress in his recovery.
At 34 years old, Ramirez joined the Twins on a minor league deal during the offseason, with hopes of securing a spot in the team’s bullpen.
Ramirez has 13 years of Major League Baseball experience and played in 13 games for Tampa Bay the previous season, achieving a 3-0 record with a 4.35 ERA.
This injury marks a considerable hurdle for both Ramirez and the Twins as they look forward to the upcoming season.
