NEW YORK – Bam Adebayo, the center for the Miami Heat, received a $50,000 fine from the NBA on Saturday due to inappropriate conduct toward a referee and the use of profane language.
The incident followed the Heat’s narrow 106-104 defeat by the Minnesota team on Friday. In the final moments of the game, Adebayo attempted a 3-point shot that could have secured a victory for the Heat. However, the shot did not succeed.
As Minnesota’s Julius Randle jumped to contest Adebayo’s attempt, the Heat player fell to the court. Following a review, the NBA announced that the officiating crew had made the correct decision by not calling a foul. According to the league’s Last 2 Minutes report, there was minimal contact on the play, and any further contact occurred after Adebayo had already released the ball.
