PHILADELPHIA — In a significant road game, the Seattle Kraken secured a decisive 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, largely propelled by their second-period offensive surge. Adding to their efforts, Matty Beniers, Chandler Stephenson, and Tye Kartye each found the back of the net during this pivotal period.

Brandon Montour also contributed to the Kraken’s scoring with a goal, helping the team overcome a recent slump that saw them lose four out of five games. Solid defense from Philipp Grubauer was also instrumental in the win, as he successfully blocked 23 shots from the Flyers.

The momentum shifted dramatically in Seattle’s favor when Beniers notched his 15th goal, giving the Kraken a narrow lead of 2-1 with just over a minute left on the clock in the second period. As the period wound down, Stephenson extended the Arctic team’s lead with a crucial short-handed goal just 22 seconds before intermission.

The Flyers’ Owen Tippett provided a glimpse of hope early on, putting his 19th goal of the season past Seattle in the first period. However, despite Tippett’s efforts, goalkeeper Samuel Ersson’s 28 saves were not enough to propel Philadelphia to success.

Achieving victory in Philadelphia marks an encouraging step for the Kraken as they aim to gain momentum and improve their standings in the league. The team’s coordinated play and strong goaltending performance provided a necessary boost at this critical point in their season.
