CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In a decisive victory, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi rolled over New Orleans with a 95-62 win on Monday night. Owen Dease was a standout player for the Islanders, scoring 17 points and hitting all six of his shot attempts, including three successful three-pointers. Shilo Jackson also contributed significantly to the victory, notching 16 points and grabbing five rebounds. Kam Parker was impressive with 14 points, connecting on five of his seven field goal attempts and shooting 50% from beyond the arc.
For the New Orleans Privateers, Luke Davis led with a strong performance, scoring 18 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Leland Coleman provided support with 14 points alongside seven rebounds, while Michael Thomas also added 14 points and earned six rebounds, along with two steals and two blocks. However, the loss marked the Privateers’ 13th consecutive defeat, illustrating their challenging season.
The Islanders concluded their regular season in fifth place and are set to face Houston Christian, who finished in eighth, in the opening round of the Southland Conference tournament on Sunday. Meanwhile, New Orleans finished at the bottom of the standings and did not secure a spot in the tournament, closing a difficult season without a postseason opportunity.
