POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — In a closely contested Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup on Sunday, Saint Peter’s secured a narrow 57-52 victory over Marist, buoyed by a standout performance from Marcus Randolph. Throughout the game, Randolph contributed 15 points, supporting his team in clinching an important win.

Despite Marist’s current standing as second in the conference rankings, just one game behind Quinnipiac—whom they defeated 69-62 earlier in the season—they are only a half-game ahead of Merrimack with two games remaining in the regular season. Marist’s hopes for maintaining their position remain challenging, having slipped with this recent loss.

Randolph demonstrated efficiency on the court, shooting three out of eight from the field, successfully hitting two out of six attempts from beyond the arc, and confidently sinking seven for seven from the free-throw line. His contributions were complemented by Mouhamed Sow, who added 13 points and eight rebounds, along with Armoni Zeigler, who tallied eight points from the field.

Marist, with a solid record of 20-7 and 13-5 in conference play, was led by Tarik Watson’s 12 points. Additional support came from Elijah Lewis, who scored nine points and pulled six rebounds, and Josh Pascarelli, who also added nine points and delivered four assists during the game.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to face new challenges this Thursday. Saint Peter’s will host Niagara, while Marist plans to welcome Merrimack to their home court, as the regular season draws to an exciting close.
