BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. — David Early contributed significantly with 14 points, leading Radford to a 63-56 victory against Gardner-Webb on Wednesday night.
Early made 4 of his 9 field goal attempts, including 2 out of 5 three-pointers, and confidently sank all 4 free throws, helping the Highlanders improve their record to 18-12 overall and 8-7 in the Big South Conference. His teammate, Ibu Yamakazi, added 13 points to the tally, making 6 of 9 shots from the field and 1 of 3 from the three-point line, while also recording three blocks. Josiah Harris had an efficient performance as well, scoring 11 points by shooting 4 of 5 from the field and a perfect 3 for 3 from the line, alongside grabbing seven rebounds.
For the Runnin’ Bulldogs, Darryl Simmons II stood out with 14 points and two steals. Anthony Selden contributed 13 points and was a powerhouse on the boards, collecting eight rebounds. Additionally, Isaiah Richards closed the game with 11 points and seven rebounds for Gardner-Webb.
Looking forward, both teams are set to play again on Saturday. Radford will be hosting Charleston Southern, while Gardner-Webb will be heading to Presbyterian.
