BALTIMORE — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Cameron Shockley-Okeke scored 24 points, leading Howard University to an 87-81 victory against Morgan State.
Shockley-Okeke contributed five rebounds in addition to his scoring for the Bison, who improved their record to 12-15 overall and 7-3 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Blake Harper also had a solid performance, netting 21 points while managing to shoot 5 of 12 from the field and hitting 11 of 16 from the free-throw line.
Ayodele Taiwo rounded out the scoring for Howard, finishing with 15 points after making 6 of 9 field goals and hitting 3 of 7 at the line.
On the opposing side, Will Thomas was a standout for the Bears, scoring an impressive 31 points. Kameron Hobbs also contributed significantly, adding 27 points to the Morgan State tally.
Rob Lawson chipped in with eight points, but his effort was not enough to secure a win for Morgan State, which now holds a record of 11-15 and 5-5 in conference play.
The game showcased a competitive spirit from both teams, making for an exciting evening of basketball.
