Pascarelli scores 31 as Marist defeats Canisius 89-81

In a thrilling game on Friday night, the Red Foxes of Marist outplayed Canisius, winning the contest with a score of 89-81, largely thanks to Josh Pascarelli’s outstanding performance.
Pascarelli demonstrated impressive shooting skills, making 11 of his 16 attempts from the floor, which included hitting 6 out of 9 from beyond the arc.
Additionally, he was successful at the free-throw line, converting 3 of 5 attempts, contributing to Marist’s strong season record of 19 wins and 5 losses, with a 12-3 standing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Elijah Lewis made noteworthy contributions as well, scoring 15 points while shooting 5 of 11 from the field.
His shooting performance included a single 3-pointer and he made 4 out of 6 free throws.
Jaden Daughtry added 11 points to the tally, with an effective shooting display of 3 for 5 and a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe.
In addition to his scoring, Daughtry’s game included six rebounds and three steals, showcasing his all-around skills on the court.

On the other side, the Golden Griffins continued to struggle, falling to a record of 2-24 with eight consecutive losses.
Paul McMillan IV was a standout for Canisius, managing to score 26 points along with two steals.
Dylan Godfrey also made significant contributions, adding 22 points, while Tana Kopa chipped in with 13 points.

Both teams will look to rebound in their next matches, scheduled for Sunday.
Marist is set to host Niagara, while Canisius will face Siena on the road.
