The New Orleans Pelicans have decided to part ways with veteran wing player Javonte Green, creating an opportunity for him to join a playoff-contending team as the NBA regular season nears its conclusion.
Standing at 6 feet 4 inches, Green was in his sixth season in the league and had just completed his first year with the Pelicans. Throughout the season, he participated in 50 games, making 18 starts while averaging 5.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists over 21.8 minutes per game.
This roster change was announced the day before New Orleans was scheduled to face Dallas in what marks both teams’ return to action following the NBA All-Star break.
At 31 years of age, Green has a college basketball background from Radford University. He began his NBA journey with the Boston Celtics and was later traded to the Chicago Bulls during his second season. Green played over three seasons in Chicago before making the move to the Pelicans.
