ATLANTA — Parker Kligerman’s victory in the NASCAR Truck Series season opener at Daytona has been overturned following a disqualification ruling, which he appealed unsuccessfully on Thursday.
NASCAR announced that Kligerman’s vehicle, the No. 75 truck, did not meet the required height standard during a postrace check, leading to the disqualification. Consequently, Corey Heim was declared the new winner of the race.
Following the disqualification, Kligerman expressed his intention to contest the decision, but his appeal was dismissed on Thursday by the National Motorsports Appeals Panel.
The panel’s ruling reaffirmed NASCAR’s initial decision, stating that it is highly probable a rules infraction took place, which warranted the disqualification according to Rule 10.5.2.4.
As a result of the revised race outcomes, actor Frankie Muniz earned his first top-10 finish in a NASCAR event.
Kligerman, who concluded his full-time racing career at the end of last season, has transitioned into a more substantial role as a commentator this year. He will not be participating in the upcoming Atlanta Truck Series race scheduled for Saturday.
