SAN ANTONIO — Jimmie Williams starred for South Florida, contributing 16 points to help the Bulls secure a 78-73 victory over UTSA on Wednesday night.

Williams had an impressive shooting night, hitting 6 of 9 attempts from the field, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc. The Bulls, now holding a record of 13-14 and 6-8 in the American Athletic Conference, also benefited from Kobe Knox’s performance, who added 13 points on 4 of 7 shooting, while perfectly converting all four free-throw attempts and collecting seven rebounds. Jamille Reynolds also made significant contributions, scoring 13 points with 5 of 8 shooting from the field, along with six rebounds and three blocks despite a challenging night at the free-throw line, where he made only 3 of 8 attempts.

For the Roadrunners, Damari Monsanto was the leading scorer with 22 points, contributing three steals as well. Primo Spears put in a solid performance as well, with 18 points, six rebounds, and four assists, alongside two steals. Tai’Reon Joseph added 11 points to the Roadrunners’ efforts.

Reynolds managed to score eight points in the first half. Unfortunately for South Florida, they were trailing at halftime with a score of 40-29. Williams turned the tide in the second half, scoring 14 of his total points after the break, playing a crucial role in the Bulls’ comeback.

Looking ahead, both teams have games scheduled for Sunday. South Florida will host North Texas, while UTSA is set to face East Carolina on the road.
