Marquel Sutton delivered an impressive performance, scoring 22 points to lead the Omaha Mavericks to a 78-66 victory over the Kansas City Kangaroos on Wednesday night.
Sutton’s shooting was notable, making 8 out of 14 attempts, including a perfect 3 for 3 from beyond the arc, along with 3 out of 4 free throws. This win improved Omaha’s record to 17-12 overall and 11-3 in the Summit League.
Complementing Sutton’s effort was JJ White, who contributed 20 points with a shooting line of 5 for 12. White excelled from three-point range, sinking 4 of his 7 attempts, and was perfect at the free-throw line, going 6 for 6. He also showcased his defensive skills with three steals. Additionally, Isaac Ondekane rounded out the scoring for Omaha with 9 points, hitting 4 of his 6 shots from the field.
On the other side, the Kansas City Kangaroos, now holding a record of 11-17 and 3-10 in the league, were led by Jamar Brown, who scored 17 points while also recording two steals and two blocks. Melvyn Ebonkoli and Babacar Diallo each contributed 13 points, with Ebonkoli adding three blocks to his tally.
