Drake University showcased a dominant performance on Wednesday night, defeating the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) 74-57 in a decisive matchup.
Bennett Stirtz was the standout player, netting an impressive 25 points, while contributing significantly with six rebounds, seven assists, and four steals, playing a key role in the Bulldogs’ success this season.
Meanwhile, Cam Manyawu added to the efforts with a solid 12 points on an efficient 5 of 7 shooting from the field, along with eight rebounds.
Tavion Banks also made his mark on the scoreboard, finishing the game with 10 points, having converted two of five attempts from the field and successfully sinking six out of eight free throws, while also securing six rebounds.

On the other side, the Flames’ offense was led by Tyem Freeman, who finished with 15 points and pulled down six rebounds.
Additionally, Modestas Kancleris contributed 13 points and matched Freeman with six rebounds, while Ahmad Henderson II added 12 points to the Flames’ total.
Despite a spirited effort from UIC, they faced a tough challenge as Drake seized the lead just 14 seconds into the contest and never looked back.
The Bulldogs displayed an explosive first half, with Stirtz scoring 16 of their 45 points, allowing them to establish a comfortable 17-point lead heading into halftime.

The second half saw Drake maintaining control, as Stirtz continued to lead the charge, scoring another nine points to ensure the victory as the game drew to a close.
As a result of this win, Drake improved its overall record to 24-3 and pushed its conference record to 14-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference, further solidifying their standing in the league.
