CLINTON, S.C. — Winthrop secured an 81-77 victory over Presbyterian on Wednesday night, highlighted by a standout performance from KJ Doucet, who scored 24 points.
Doucet also contributed significantly on the boards, pulling down six rebounds for the Eagles, who now hold a record of 19 wins and 10 losses, including 9 victories and 5 losses in the Big South Conference.
In addition to Doucet’s efforts, Kelton Talford delivered an impressive performance as well, finishing with 17 points after shooting 6 of 10 from the field and 5 of 7 from the free-throw line.
He also secured 12 rebounds, showcasing his capabilities both offensively and defensively.
Kasen Harrison made his mark by scoring 13 points, shooting 4 of 8 overall while maintaining a perfect 4 of 4 from the charity stripe, and he contributed seven assists to help his teammates score.
For the Blue Hose, Kory Mincy was a key player, scoring 18 points and providing seven assists, while his teammate Kobe Stewart matched that output, also netting 18 points in the game.
Carl Parrish added depth to the scoring, finishing with 12 points.
Presbyterian’s record now stands at 11 wins and 17 losses, with a conference record of 4 wins and 9 losses, as they continue to look for improvements in their season.
