RICHMOND, Va. — On Wednesday evening, VCU secured a dominant victory over UMass with a final score of 80-51, highlighted by impressive performances from Joe Bamisile and Max Shulga, who each contributed 19 points to the win.

Bamisile also pulled down six rebounds, playing a crucial role in the Rams’ overall success. Shulga showcased his shooting prowess, hitting 5 of 6 from beyond the arc and going perfect from the free-throw line on four attempts, while also adding five rebounds and seven assists to his stat line. Jack Clark further bolstered VCU’s offense with 17 points, shooting 6 for 9 overall, including a remarkable 5 for 6 from three-point range.

On the other side, the Minutemen struggled to keep pace, with Daniel Rivera being the standout with 15 points. Rahsool Diggins supported the effort by adding 10 points of his own.

VCU built a commanding lead, heading into halftime with a score of 46-22. Shulga’s scoring surge helped the team establish control early in the game, and the Rams didn’t look back. They widened their advantage to as much as 72-43 in the second half, fueled by a 7-0 run. During the final period, Bamisile stood out with a team-high of 13 points, continuing to push the advantage for VCU.

Both teams are set to compete again on Saturday, with VCU facing George Mason at home, while UMass prepares for an away game against George Washington.
