
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Right-handed relief pitcher Adam Ottavino has signed a minor league deal with the Boston Red Sox and is set to join the major league spring training roster.
The 39-year-old veteran has spent the last three years playing for the New York Mets, where he achieved a personal best by securing 12 saves in the 2023 season while maintaining a 3.21 ERA. In the previous season, he recorded a 4.34 ERA, finishing with a 2-2 record and one save.
This marks Ottavino’s second time with the Red Sox; during his first stint in 2021, he posted an impressive 7-3 record, collected 11 saves, and had a 4.21 ERA.
