RIVERSIDE, Calif. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Barrington Hargress delivered a standout performance, scoring 26 points to lead UC Riverside to an 81-69 victory over UC Santa Barbara.

Hargress not only excelled in scoring but also made significant contributions with six assists for the Highlanders, who improved their overall record to 17-10 and their Big West Conference record to 10-5. Nate Pickens supported the team’s efforts by adding 18 points, achieving a shooting accuracy of 50% from the field, including four successful three-pointers, and securing five rebounds. Isaiah Moses also played a key role, finishing the night with 15 points, effectively converting 4 of 5 field goal attempts, along with a flawless 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

On the opposing side, the Gauchos put forth a valiant effort, with Kenny Pohto emerging as their top scorer with 24 points and contributing two steals. Max Murrell also had a strong showing, adding 18 points, while Cole Anderson rounded off the scoring with 11 points. UCSB’s record now stands at 16-10, with a conference performance of 8-7.
