ST. PAUL, Minn. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday night, Drake Dobbs led the St. Thomas basketball team to a 95-84 victory over Omaha, contributing significantly with 23 points. Dobbs displayed a strong performance, making 6 of his 9 attempts from the field and achieving a perfect 4 for 4 from beyond the arc, while also hitting 7 of 8 free throws. This win improved the Tommies’ record to 20-7 overall and 10-2 in the Summit League.
Alongside Dobbs, Miles Barnstable had a solid outing, scoring 17 points and showcasing his defensive skills with three steals. Nolan Minessale added to the team’s success by notching 15 points, hitting 4 of 7 field goals while going a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line.
On the other side of the court, the Mavericks fought hard, with Marquel Sutton leading the charge. Sutton scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help keep Omaha competitive. Ja’Sean Glover also made a notable contribution with 18 points and four assists, while Kamryn Thomas finished with 14 points along with two blocks.
Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Wednesday. St. Thomas is set to face off against South Dakota, while Omaha will be traveling to take on Kansas City.
