Pettaway scores 18 as Presbyterian defeats Longwood 77-68

    FARMVILLE, Va. — Quadir Pettaway led the Presbyterian Blue Hose to a 77-68 victory over Longwood on Saturday evening, contributing significantly with a total of 18 points. Pettaway displayed an impressive shooting performance, making 5 of his 8 attempts from the field, including 2 out of 4 from beyond the arc, and he also completed all 6 of his free throw attempts. This win improved the Blue Hose’s record to 11-16 overall and 4-8 in the Big South Conference. Kobe Stewart also played a crucial role in the win, scoring 16 points, hitting 8 of 13 shots, while grabbing six rebounds. Carl Parrish added 11 points, going 4 for 8 shooting, with a notable 3 of 6 from the three-point line.

    On the other side, the Longwood Lancers, now with a record of 16-11 and 5-7 in conference play, were led by Elijah Tucker, who scored 15 points and secured seven rebounds. Additionally, Kyrell Luc contributed with 15 points, alongside 4 assists and 2 steals. Angelo Brizzi further supported his team with 13 points and 3 steals.

    Looking ahead, both Presbyterian and Longwood are set to face new challenges on Wednesday. Presbyterian will play at home against Winthrop, while Longwood will take on Gardner-Webb at their home court.
